In a recent interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, Podz was questioned about an NBA coach who likened the aging Warriors to a faded rock group. The coach’s name was kept secret. After practicing at Oracle Park, the guard in his second year seemed to be running on pure adrenaline.
“We don’t love to hear that, but we love to hear that in the fact that we’re going to do something that no one expects us to do,” he continued.

There are a lot of males that have that mindset and get great satisfaction from proving others wrong. I am aware that Steph Curry is among those guys. The second-year guard is expected to be a key member of Golden State’s attack this season after showing signs of promise as a premier playmaker and shooter as a rookie. Podz said in an earlier interview that he plans to try 10 three-pointers per game this season, thus replacing Klay Thompson, who inked a free-agent deal to play for the Mavericks.
The 21-year-old has also received a ton of praise from Warriors governor Joe Lacob, head coach Steve Kerr, and other public speakers who have talked about Podziemski’s growth as Curry’s successor.
In trade talks with All-Stars like Paul George and Lauri Markkanen, Podz has gained the esteemed reputation of “untouchable” as a result of his increasing popularity among the Warriors.
It is now Podz’s duty to live up to the anticipation. The Warriors’ season opener against the Blazers is set for October 23.
