K-media issues an apology for disseminating inaccurate CCTV footage related to BTS’s DUI conviction.

In an exclusive CCTV video that JTBC Newsroom unveiled on August 7, 2024, a man is seen speeding along the main road on an electric scooter. The channel said that the individual was none other than SUGA from BTS, whose DUI case had already garnered media attention. A week later, though, Donga Ilbo and TV Chosun published a fresh tape that painted an entirely different picture.

HYBE swiftly verified that the individual in the recently released video is, in fact, SUGA. He was observed travelling at a leisurely pace on an electric scooter while using the sidewalk. The prior footage was likewise rejected by police as phoney. After receiving confirmation, JTBC Newsroom apologised and acknowledged their error.

The Korean media outlet stated on August 16 that BIGHIT MUSIC has chosen to move forward with a 90 million KRW lawsuit against YouTube Sojang for allegedly defaming Jimin and V of BTS. August 23 is scheduled for the first trial at Seoul Western District Court’s Civil Division 12. The business initially sued in 2022, alleging business obstruction and defamation. They also launched a second legal claim in 2023, this time requesting damages from Sojang.

Four people have been detained in connection with the airport’s controversial over-the-top measures, including the CEO of the private security firm, according to the Incheon International Air Police Department.
