Pop sensation Taylor Swift made sure her admirers were never let down with her thoughtful act! Following Swift’s cancellation of her tour dates due to a foiled terror plot, Disney and Swift stunned fans in Austria with a special opportunity to see the concert movie from her Eras Tour.
Taylor Swift Tour Cancelled due to a planned terror attack
On August 10, 2024, Disney+ film Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) will make its free TV debut in Austria thanks to a partnership with cable station ORF. Also, the streamer is providing a complimentary seven-day trial of Disney+ Premium for a limited period of time.
On August 8, Swift was scheduled to play in Vienna as part of the tour’s European leg. But after government officials voiced fears about a potential terror attack, the event was called off.
According to Wikikedaa, Vienna police have confirmed that they have detained two individuals in connection with a plot to attack Swift’s August 8, 9, and 10 concerts at Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna. The next day, a third male suspect was taken into custody, the Associated Press said.
The concert promoter said in a statement on Instagram shortly after the arrests that it had “no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety.” The post was later published to the Instagram Stories of the official Taylor Nation account.
The pop icon’s social media accounts were inundated with messages endorsing the singer and applauding her dedication to the security of her fans, known as Swifties, a day after the cancellation of the show was announced.
Swift is aware of her followers’ dismay and is said to be “devastated” by the cancellation. According to a source who spoke with The Mirror, Swift hopes to visit Vienna as soon as feasible.
Similar events occurred in 2017, when suicide bomber Salman Abedi set off an explosive in the Manchester Arena during pop artist Ariana Grande’s performance, interrupting the concert and killing numerous people. Hundreds were injured.
Swift will play five concerts at Wembley Stadium in London from August 15 to August 20, 2024, as part of The Eras Tour’s next leg.
