Sherwood Season 2 Trailer; Brit Box has revealed that Sherwood Season 2 will debut on November 14 and promises more drama and intrigue in Nottingham’s dysfunctional town.

The much awaited second season of BBC’s Sherwood will premiere on Sunday, August 25, at 9 p.m., following a two-year hiatus. Monday, August 26 is when the second episode will premiere. Sundays and Mondays after that are when the remaining episodes will show.

Picking up where Season 1 left off, the second season explores the ongoing conflicts between Nottinghamshire’s communities. Season 1 examined the effects of two horrific murders on a shattered community, drawing inspiration from actual events in writer James Graham’s hometown. In order to continue the plot, Season 2 moves to the present and brings together both new and old characters.

The return of the local crime family the Sparrows and the arrival of two new families, the Bottomley’s and the Bransons, are hinted to in the trailer for Sherwood Season 2. Resurgent rivalries, themes of betrayal and retaliation, and increased drama involving local gangs are all anticipated for this season. A contentious new mine will be challenged by a new sheriff, escalating the struggle between economic development and unresolved grievances.

According to the official synopsis, “The second series explores the potent themes that were present in the first season. It is set in the present and introduces two new families that become involved with the Sparrows while delving into treachery, retaliation, and longstanding rivalries among the local gangs.”

A new sheriff is adamantly opposing a proposed mine, promising wealth and jobs but also bringing uncomfortable recollections of previous neighbourhood conflicts.

The season, which is helmed by Tom George (This Country) and Clio Barnard (Alien & Ava), stars David Morrissey, Lesley Manville, and Stephen Dillane again. Monica Dolan, Robert Lindsay, David Harewood, Adam Hugill, Jorden Myrie, and Ria Zmitrowicz are among the new cast members.

James Graham, the originator of the series, writes all six episodes again, delving further into social themes and local history. Tom George directs the latter three episodes, with Clio Barnard directing the majority.

The upcoming six-episode season will delve further into the lives of Nottinghamshire citizens, demonstrating the ongoing influence of historical events on the present. On Sunday, August 25, and Monday, August 26, Sherwood Season 2 will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer as a double bill.
