Princess Märtha Louise and Shaman Durek Wedding: The wedding celebrations for Princess Märtha Louise and Shaman Durek Verrett have begun in Norway.

Celebrities like Nina Dobrev and Gwyneth Paltrow are connected to the “6th generation shaman” from California, and on August 29th, celebrations began for the daughter of King Harald and Queen Sonja and her imminent wedding. The celebration was kicked off on Thursday in the seaside town of Alesund in honor of Princess Märtha Louise, 52, and Durek, 49, who are getting married on Saturday, August 31, at Hotel Union in Geiranger.

A welcome party with a “‘sexy and cool’ dress code” will take place in the garden of Hotel 1904 on the day before the wedding, according to Hello! magazine, which is exclusively covering the event.

On August 30, the visitors embarked on an exciting boat ride over the Geiranger Fjord, which is recognized as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Pictures of the couple showed them getting ready for the date. Märtha Louise was dressed in black leather, boots, and a bright top, while Durek was wearing brown clothes and sunglasses.

The pre-wedding festivities were also attended by Princess Märtha Louise’s younger brother, Crown Prince Haakon, his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, their 20-year-old daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, and their 18-year-old son, Prince Sverre Magnus.

There were other royal guests on the guest list besides Märtha Louise’s family. On the second day of their wedding celebrations, the couple was joined by Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands.

Hi there! declared that Hotel Union will host a “pre-wedding party with a Latin American theme” that Friday.

Last year, Märtha Louise posted on Instagram, saying, “We are so happy to be able to celebrate our love in Geiranger’s beautiful surroundings.” “We find great meaning in assembling our loved ones in a location rich in natural experiences and rich history. There’s nowhere better than Geiranged to celebrate our love.”

The historic hotel will host the major event, the wedding ceremony on August 31, along with a wedding breakfast and reception. Prior to the wedding, Durek disclosed that Parish Priest Margit Lovise Holte would perform the marriage ceremony, and Reverend Michael Beckwith would offer the invocation.

About 350 people are expected to attend the wedding. Speaking about her special day, Märtha Louise told Hello! magazine, “I’m excited that the day is almost here. It feels amazing to be marrying Durek.” The location is among the most breathtaking spots I’ve ever seen. The surrounds are stunning.”

She said, “Even if there are a few glitches, we can still gaze at the stunning scenery.”

The Royal House of Norway announced on August 26 which members of the family would be present at the wedding. The court announced that the 87-year-old King Harald and Queen Sonja would be present at the wedding in Geiranger. The notification also stated that Princess Astrid, the sister of King Harald, and Crown Prince Haakon, along with their spouses and kids, would be present.

The son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit from a previous relationship, Marius Borg Høiby, was left out. Marius, 27, has apologized in a message to the Norwegian Broadcasting Company (NRK) after being reportedly arrested in Oslo on August 4 for an alleged incident involving a lady in her 20s.

“The royal ship Norway will be used as accommodation during the wedding,” the statement said, seemingly referring to the Royal Yacht. “The royal family is looking forward to being guests at Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett’s wedding,” the statement stated. The King owns the official ship, which is maintained by the Royal Norwegian Navy and used normally from May to September.

According to earlier reports, Princess Märtha Louise and Durek allegedly established special arrangements with Hello! and Netflix, which prevented several Norwegian royals from appearing in some of the wedding photos. Guri Varpe, the chief of communications for the Royal House of Norway, had assured the NRK that when other media won’t have access, the royals would not allow the two outlets to take pictures or videos of them.

Princess Märtha Louise will be getting married for the second time. She had previously been married to the late writer and poet Ari Behn, with whom she had three daughters: Emma Tallulah, 15, Maud Angelica, 21, and Leah Isadora, 19.

After being married in 2002, the former couple filed for divorce in 2016 and made their separation public the following year. Behn, 47, committed suicide in 2019. After her ex-husband passed away, Märtha Louise talked about the difficulties of overcoming depression.

Princess Märtha Louise and Durek made their relationship known to the world in May 2019 and declared their engagement in June 2022. In September 2023, they made it known that they will wed in August 2023 in Geiranger.
