Popular Turtle Dies: Hope, the popular albino pinkbelly sideneck turtle who inspired people all around the world with her uplifting tale of tenacity, died at the age of six. Here’s all the information you require.

In November 2018, Hope, an albino pinkbelly sideneck turtle, captured the hearts of many people when her owner, Michael Aquilina, started posting her story online. Hope, who was born with a rare defect that revealed her heart, rose to fame on the internet quite soon. She became a symbol of hope and fortitude because of her unusual ailment and her journey through life with it.

Sadly, Hope passed away on Sunday, August 11, following her admission to an animal hospital, after providing joy to her fans for almost six years. The tragic news was relayed by Aquilina, who goes by AquaMike on Instagram, with his 394,000 followers.

He wrote a heartfelt ode to Hope, saying, “I adore you. I shall always miss you. Without you, I feel completely broken. I am grateful that you have given my life meaning. If you had never entered my life, I would not be here now.”

When Aquilina started posting details of her life on Instagram in November 2018, Hope’s narrative started to gather popularity. The turtle stood out due to her uncommon condition—an exposed heart. Hope flourished under Aquilina’s care despite the challenges brought on by her illness, inspiring many with her fortitude. She gained international attention as a symbol of strength and optimism throughout time, drawing admirers from all across the globe.

In addition to highlighting Hope’s illness, Aquilina frequently mentioned the affection and attention she received in her writings about her. Hope became more than just a pet as her fan base expanded; for those who followed her journey, she served as an inspiration. Many others were inspired by Aquilina’s Instagram page, where he posted updates on Hope’s daily activities and health.

Hope started exhibiting some strange symptoms on Saturday, August 10, and was then sent to an animal hospital. Aquilina was frightened enough to seek medical assistance when he saw she was mouth breathing and had a decreased appetite.

On a GoFundMe page created to assist with Hope’s medical expenses, he expressed his worries and noted that Hope’s condition was stable and that both he and the doctors were hopeful about her recovery.

“Her eyes were open, she was active, she just had a suppressed appetite and was mouth breathing for one day,” Aquilina stated. Having talked with her doctors about a four-day course of treatment, he felt hopeful. “She made it through the night and was doing well the next morning,” he continued.

But things became worse when Aquilina got a call at about three p.m. saying that Hope’s heart rate had slowed, and she was getting worse. He was informed that Hope was doing better a few hours later, but at 9 p.m., he was devastated to learn that she had passed away.
