Missing Woman Found on Husband Property Over Three Years After Her Disappearance: Over three years after going missing, the remains of a Michigan lady have been discovered on a farm owned by her spouse.
The mother of four Dee Ann Warner, 52, of Tecumseh, Michigan, whose home on Munger Road in Franklin Township, Lenawee County, was reported missing on April 25, 2021, was identified as the subject of the human remains discovered on Dale Warner’s property, according to confirmation from the Michigan State Police (MSP) on Wednesday, August 21.
“Today, the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office carried out additional investigation on the human remains discovered on Dale Warner’s property,” an announcement posted on the MSP First District X (formerly known as Twitter) account stated. “The Jackson County Medical Examiner has positively identified the remains as Dee Warner.”
“Although the cause of death has been established, details will not be disclosed until additional research is completed. This is an ongoing inquiry, even though the manner of death has been verified and there has been identification on the remains,” the statement continued.
“Investigators will continue to gather evidence and work with the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office to ensure a conviction,” it said.
Contacted by people, Dale Warner’s lawyer did not immediately reply.
The revelation follows police confirmation on Sunday, August 18, that human remains were discovered in a propane tank on Dale’s property on Friday, August 16, while a search warrant was being executed.
The remains were discovered inside a dilapidated, remote barn on one of Dale’s farms off Paragon Road. The missing woman’s relatives stated at the time that they thought the remains were Dee’s.
Anhydrous ammonia, which is used in agricultural fertiliser, was typically stored in the tank, a family representative had previously told WTVG. According to the outlet, the tank was sealed shut and had a “do not use” warning on it. According to a family representative, when the bodies were discovered, the chemicals were not in the tank.
On November 22, 2023, state police verified through a press statement that Dale had been taken into custody and was being charged with open murder and evidence tampering. They also mentioned that Dale had been arraigned in Lenawee County District Court.
In the press statement at the time, Commander First District Headquarters Captain Steve O’Neill stated, “I am extremely proud of the tireless work our detectives have put in to solve this case.”
They have pieced together an extremely challenging case that has resulted in an arrest with amazing perseverance. According to the November statement, O’Neill continued, “This arrest is another step in our investigation, and we will continue our efforts to bring closure to the family and to find Dee Warner’s remains so that her family can lay her to rest.
Dale has long insisted on his innocence and entered a not guilty plea in the past. According to WXYZ, a judge decided in June 2024 that there was sufficient evidence to put him on trial for the murder of his wife.
