Miranda Lambert will receive the Country Icon Award: Miranda Lambert is become a recognized icon!
The 40-year-old country music artist will receive the country icon award at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, broadcast live from Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House on Thursday, September 26. Shania Twain will serve as host.
Based on a press release provided to the public, Lambert is set to get the prize because throughout the course of her twenty-year career, she has “built an authentic, female-forward brand of country that has shaped the industry.”
“After more than two decades as a phenomenon in the country music industry, Miranda Lambert’s innovative records have won over listeners worldwide. “We are thrilled to present the Country Icon Award to her in honour of her remarkable career, fierce individualism, and industry innovation,” said NBCUniversal Entertainment Executive Vice President of Live Events and Specials Jen Neal in a statement.
Lambert discussed her acceptance of serving as a mentor for upcoming musicians in an interview that aired earlier this month on Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast.
“Since I do not have children of my own, I want to use that part of what I have learnt for younger generations, especially of artists because nobody tells you how this goes,” Lambert stated.
“Nobody sits there and gives you a handbook of, like, ‘Well, when you make it to this level, this is what is going to happen,'” she said. “Just seeing the fire in the eyes of someone just starting out, it reignites your fire.”
Even though Lambert’s first studio album, Kerosene, was released almost 20 years ago, the musician has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
In July, Lambert revealed that Postcards From Texas, her upcoming 14-track album, would be out on September 13.
Regarding the forthcoming release, Lambert recently told people that it is “very country.” This is what fans can anticipate. Miranda Lambert will receive the Country Icon Award.
“I recorded this song in Texas. Since I was eighteen, I had not recorded an album in Texas. At the May Lone River Collective event in Frisco, Texas, she told people, “I went down to Arlyn Studios in Austin, and Jon Randall, who is my bestie and co-writer and co-producer, we worked together a lot.”
“Just going home to Texas to make it felt really right for this new season and this new chapter,” Lambert concluded. “I signed with Republic Records … and this new team has just given me so much fire and inspiration because it is all about the music with them.”
On Thursday, September 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and Peacock, the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards will be broadcast live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
