Most importantly, Messina’s strengths—comic timing and dramatic range—were amplified by the electrifying connection between him and Mindy Kaling, which drove the beloved Dandy romance.

In a public statement made on August 21 during the 2024 Democratic National Convention, Kaling encouraged Affleck to “hang in there,” expressing her support for him in the face of widespread public scrutiny of his personal life.
