Machine Gun Kelly Discusses Her Family, who was born in Texas in 1990, aspires to end the curse of “dying alone” and generational pain.

Robotic Weapon Kelly recently shared his candidness regarding his difficult childhood and the life-altering event his father went through. The rapper and singer, real name Colson Baker, went on to discuss how his love of music has been fuelled by these experiences.

In a recent Dumb Blonde podcast interview with Bunnie XO, which aired on August 5, MGK talked about some of the early trauma his late father experienced and how it affected his upbringing. When Kelly was younger, “I used to get so mad at him because he would freak out, like, gnarly freak out if I scared him or if he heard a loud boom or loud noise,” Kelly recalled.

“You are supposed to be a man, dude,” he recalls thinking to himself at the moment. Why do you behave in this manner? That only made me detest him. And then you sit there and imagine a child who was nine years old when he was put on trial for his father’s murder.

MGK clarified that his grandfather dropped a revolver and his head “essentially blew off” in front of his father and grandmother. The police discovered the shotgun beneath the bed. His father and grandmother were eventually found not guilty after being placed on trial. The 34-year-old rapper disclosed that “schizophrenia runs really heavy in that side of the family” and that his grandfather battled split personality disorder.

The singer of Blood Valentine remarked, “So many things I have taken on, and I think I have projected myself as somebody who has the stamina to endure all of these things that come with fame, criticism, and hate.” He also fought back against “all those traumas,” as MGK clarified, because he always wanted his father to be tough, “to shake everything off,” and to just fight anybody who came at him.”I never understood why he was so closed,” he continued. However, I am exhausted and, to be honest, a truly broken, internally damaged, and shy child.

Born into a family of Christian missionaries, MGK spent his early years in Germany, Egypt, Kenya, and Texas before moving to Texas as a teenager. In July 2020, his father had passed away. The rapper expresses hope that during his lifetime he would be able to end the generational pain cycle. “Every medium I have spoken to claims that my family’s male members are cursed to die alone and have all passed away alone due to a generational curse. Since I am the seventh generation, I ought to be able to lift the curse,” he remarked.

He went on to discuss the numerological importance of his birthdate, 22nd, calling it a “master number” and a “curse breaker.” “I really hope that in this lifetime, I master who I am at my best and do what I am supposed to do,” he remarked. I am currently travelling a very challenging road with it.
