Jamie Lee Curtis discussed Freaky Friday 2, the sequel to her beloved 2003 movie Freaky Friday, in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. Actor Chad Michael Murray portrayed Lindsay Lohan’s character Anna’s love interest in the first film; however, Curtis revealed that Manny Jacinto, star of The Acolyte, will play her husband and partner in the next installment.

Disney had before revealed that Jacinto would be returning for the follow-up. In an interview with the site, the Halloween Ends actress hinted, “Manny plays Lindsay’s husband, but that is as much as we can say,” adding that the sequel is still being filmed. At his casting, Lohan also discussed her ideas, saying, “Manny is lovely, so funny.”
Murray, a member of the original cast, will also be returning to the role of Jake. The studio revealed an image of Murray, who also happens to be sporting a new motorbike, last month to officially confirm his comeback. Curtis recently opened up to Variety about his comeback, telling the magazine that the film’s filming will wrap up in roughly “two weeks.” “All of a sudden, the Chad Michael Murray character comes into the story, and I am telling you, the entire room changed,” she said, recalling the table read. She also highlighted how everyone in the room was enthusiastic when he appeared on the set.
