Lil Tay video account states that her open-heart surgery: Lil Tay posted on social media that she is “on the road to recovery” following open-heart surgery.

Three days after she first raised fans’ concerns with a post about her health, the 17-year-old performer provided an update on her route to having heart surgery on Saturday, Sept. 14, via her X (previously Twitter) account.

“We are overjoyed to share that Tay’s open-heart surgery was a great success!” According to the rapper’s Saturday X post. “We are deeply thankful to her surgeon, cardiologist, and the team who are the best in the world!”

“I appreciate all of the well wishes, love, and good vibes you have all given her. I appreciate your unwavering support 🙏❤️,” the post said. “We’re off to a fantastic start on the road to recovery.”

Lil Tay Open Heart Sugery Update

Before this, Tay’s X and Instagram accounts published several posts between September 11 and September 12 that sparked worries about her health.

“Wishing for Tay, please. As further information becomes available, we’ll keep you informed,” the original post on Wednesday said.

A few hours later, Tay, whose actual name is Claire Hope, was listed as “in serious condition” and in intensive care in another post that was posted to the account. The X post also included a picture of a pediatric intensive care unit along with the words “Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.”

A few hours later, a third post was made, in which it was said that Tay had been “diagnosed with a life-threatening heart tumor.” In addition to what seemed to be a heart-related ultrasound video, the administrator running Tay’s account asked fans for their “love and prayers.”

An additional update from September 13 said, “Tay is about to undergo major open-heart surgery to remove her heart tumor.”

“This is a critical procedure, we ask for your prayers for a successful operation,” the message stated.

Controversy is nothing new for the young star of the internet. When a message claiming Tay and her older half-brother, Jason Tian, had both passed away was posted on Instagram last year, Tay and her family were implicated in a death hoax. She was reportedly 14 years old at the time, but later sources claim she is actually 17.

The rapper’s management confirmed Tay’s death to Variety, but neither her father, Christopher John Hope, nor a lawyer for her mother were able to corroborate the information to people. There were no records of the purported death with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner or the Los Angeles Police Department.

One day after it was posted, the Instagram message proclaiming Tay’s passing was taken down. A month later, Tay took to social media to release a music video for her new song and an announcement via her representatives declaring, “I’m back.” I’m making everyone aware.”
