Israel Adesanya Describes congratulations to Dricus du Plessis for winning UFC 305: Israel Adesanya highlights the respect and sportsmanship between the two combatants as she congratulates Dricus du Plessis on his victory at UFC 305.
Dricus du Plessis was congratulated by Israel Adesanya following his defeat in his middleweight championship battle. In an attempt to regain lost fame, Israel Adesanya declared his desire to “kill” du Plessis. Regretfully, Adesanya suffered a severe blow from du Plessis from the very first round. Adesanya eventually gave up after failing to stop the South African’s strikes when he tapped out for a submission in the fourth round.
Speaking at the news conference following the bout, Adesanya seems to have moved over the animosity that caused chaos before the UFC 305 main event. “Izzy” congratulated du Plessis on his triumph, saying, “Dricus is an African champion, but the three kings will reign supreme.”Another generation of African fighters will be inspired by [Dricus]. Congratulations to him for this evening. Until our next meeting.
Such a statement from Adesanya, however, is completely at odds with their interactions before the altercation. Du Plessis and Adesanya verbally attacked one another, even going so far as to insult each other personally at times. For instance, Du Plessis took advantage of Adesanya’s admission that he was raised by servants, asking ‘Izzy’ in a mocking manner if he was taking the servants back to Africa.

Adesanya did not hold back either. By making light of the existence of slavery in Africa, “Izzy” disparaged Du Plessis’s race. Furthermore, he went too far by sharing an explicit meme on social media. Adesanya compared himself to Dricus du Plessis side by side. “The Last Stylebender” questioned who the true African champion was as he circled the crotch area.
The two got into a feud when Dricus du Plessis defeated Robert Whittaker at UFC 290. The two got into a furious argument as soon as they entered the octagon, which resulted in animosity that persisted until UFC 305 was over. Dricus du Plessis asserted himself as the “true African champion” in the interim. Outraged by this assertion, Adesanya stated that Du Plessis has offended people like Kamaru Usman and Francis Ngannou.
After the dispute has been resolved, Dricus du Plessis is looking forward to fresh challenges. He will probably be up against Sean Strickland next. But “The Reaper” is also putting up a good fight for himself, as Robert Whittaker is winning dominating races back-to-back. “Stillknocks” would want to silence Sean Strickland after defeating Adesanya.
