Garth Brooks says he and Trisha Yearwood may leave the United States for Ireland: A month after being sensationally accused of raping his wife’s makeup artist, musician Garth Brooks has made hints that he wants to leave the United States and move to Ireland with his wife, Trisha Yearwood.
In a recent episode of his Facebook Live series, “Inside Studio G,” Brooks, 62, talked candidly about his possible plans to relocate to Europe. He acknowledged that his 60-year-old wife is “pushing” for him to buy a house in Ireland.
Brooks, who now resides in Tennessee, referred to Yearwood as “The Queen,” explaining that his wife “fell head over heels” for Ireland during their lengthy vacation there in late 2022, when he gave several performances in Dublin.
“The Queen is really vying for that house over there,” he said. “I think that during her most recent visit, she just fell in love with the nation. During that period, we played two weekends across the country, and she was treated with such kindness by everyone.
His admission comes just weeks after he and Yearwood sold their Brentwood, Tennessee, home for $3.34 million, just hours before a hairstylist and cosmetics artist who had worked with Brooks for years accused him of rape and abuse in public.
It was exclusively disclosed by Realtor.com® that the pair had sold the house, which was used as a backdrop for over 100 episodes of Yearwood’s well-liked cooking program, “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.”
In 2023, it was put up for sale for $4.5 million. Before finding a buyer, Brooks and Yearwood made many price reductions, first to $3.95 million and then to $3.8 million.
On October 2, one day before it was made public that Garth Brooks had been charged with rape and sexual assault in a case brought by a woman only identified as Jane Roe, the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom house was formally sold.
On October 3, the case was submitted to the Los Angeles County branch of the California Supreme Court. According to ABC News, it describes Garth Brooks accuser as a 30-year-experienced professional hairstyle and makeup artist who was initially recruited to perform Yearwood’s glam in 1999.
With a net worth estimated at $300 million to $350 million, Garth Brooks has strongly refuted the accusations, claiming in a statement to the broadcaster that he is the target of specific “threats and lies.”
“I have been tormented for the past two months with threats, falsehoods, and heartbreaking stories about what would happen to me if I did not write a check for millions of dollars,” he stated.
It has resembled someone waving a loaded gun in my face. Regardless of the amount, hush money is still hushing money. That implies, in my opinion, that I am confessing to actions that I am incapable of—ugly deeds that no human being should ever commit against another person,” he added.
He clarified that he had decided to act “anonymously for the sake of families on both sides” and noted that he and his spouse had already sued his accuser for extortion and defamation of character.
“I want to play music tonight,” Garth Brooks said in closing. I wish to carry on our good actions in the future. It pains me that these amazing things are now under scrutiny. I do not fear the truth; I have faith in the system.
Although Roe claims she started working with the singer in 2017 but was employed on a more regular basis in 2019 after she started “experiencing financial difficulties,” it is unclear if the selling of the house has anything to do with the complaint against Brooks.
According to the lawsuit, Roe’s lawyers wrote that Garth Brooks rape of her in a Los Angeles hotel room in May 2019 was “painful and traumatic.” When Brooks was done, everything went on as usual, with a chilly contempt for Ms. Roe. To ensure he arrived on time, Ms. Roe worked swiftly to do his makeup and prepare his hair for the occasion.
According to its listing, the home that Yearwood and Garth Brooks sold was an “extraordinary historic estate” tucked away in the middle of 4.42 acres of “pristine, private grounds.”
A modern chef’s kitchen equipped with “high-end Wolf appliances, including a double oven, a six-burner cooktop, a warming drawer, a 30-inch gourmet microwave, and a sleek Sub-Zero refrigerator” is one of its many features.
The majority of Yearwood and Garth Brooks time is now spent at another remarkable estate in Nashville, Tennessee, which they constructed from the ground up on a piece of property that Brooks bought in 2001.
