Foo Fighters vocalist Dave Grohl revealed on Tuesday, September 10, that he had welcomed a daughter outside of his 21-year marriage to Jordyn Blum. With the caption, “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl shared the news with his Instagram followers. To her, I want to be a kind and encouraging dad. I’m doing my hardest to win back my wife’s and my kids’ trust and forgiveness because I love them.
Violet (18), Harper (15), and Ophelia (10), Grohl and Blum’s three daughters, were born into their marriage in 2003. Grohl’s declaration stunned a lot of people because of his reputation as a family man. But the musician said, “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together,” demonstrating his commitment to his family.
Before announcing the birth of his baby daughter, Grohl allegedly engaged a divorce attorney, according to a source who talked with PEOPLE. The insider did not go into detail about whether Grohl and Blum are thinking about getting a divorce, but the fact that a lawyer is present implies that the pair is having difficulties.

Violet, the eldest daughter of the pair, deleted her Instagram account after Grohl’s statement. Jordyn Blum and Dave Grohl initially crossed paths in 2001, when Blum was employed as an MTV producer. On August 2, 2003, Grohl’s former bandmate from Nirvana, Krist Novoselic, and music executive Clive Davis were among the prominent people in attendance for their wedding. Grohl said to Teen People in 2003 that he had nothing to hide and that Blum was essentially the first person he had ever been really honest with.
Throughout their marriage, Grohl and Blum have been more than just partners—they have been collaborators. Blum starred in the Foo Fighters’ 2011 music video for White Limo and co-directed the band’s Walk a Line music video in 2002. Additionally, Grohl claimed that songs like Burn Away and Statues were influenced by Blum.
