Swift’s August 8, 9, and 10 concerts were canceled after investigators discovered a conspiracy. At Ernst Happel Stadium, Coldplay and Maggie Rogers sang the 2008 hit song “Love Story” by Swift a cappella. Martin performed the piano portion of the lovely song, which was co-written by Swift and producer Aaron Dessner, on the smaller satellite stage.
Swift’s Eras Tour concluded its European leg last week with five performances at London’s Wembley Stadium. Following Swift’s victorious end to her three-show run, Vienna police reported that they had detained three individuals in connection with an alleged plan to attack the stadium and “kill as many people as possible.”
Two suspects are said to have pledged loyalty to the Islamic State: a 19-year-old who was allegedly radicalized online, and an 18-year-old who had previously purportedly pledged allegiance to the terrorist organization ISIS. A company that provided services to the venue apparently employed a 17-year-old just one week before the events. None of the individuals have been formally charged as of yet.
Over 65,000 admirers were present for the subdued piano-and-voice rendition, in which Rogers sang the refrain. As per customary, Martin introduced a few fans for the homage, one of whom was sporting a concert t-shirt from Coldplay that said, “Dear Chris, Swifties will remember you.” I am grateful.

Coldplay’s gratitude came after two shows of Shake It Off on Thursday and Saturday, and a cover of Swift’s Love Story that kicked off their tour last Wednesday.
In order to guarantee the safety of all guests, performers, and crew, Live Nation GSA closely collaborated with local authorities as part of the concert’s stringent security measures. Concertgoers were delayed as a result of extensive searches conducted at entry points.
Taylor Swift wrapped up a five-night engagement at London’s Wembley Stadium after the Vienna incident. In her Instagram post regarding the Vienna shows, Swift expressed both fear and thanks for the prompt action taken by authorities that spared a worse catastrophe.
While Coldplay and Maggie Rogers’ homage was a heartfelt display of support, Taylor Swift and her fans were going through a trying time.
