Britney Spears naming the actress she would like to play her in a film: Britney Spears once expressed her desire to be portrayed in a film by THIS Oscar-winning actress. Since Universal Pictures has acquired her memoir for a biopic, fans are now anxiously awaiting casting announcements.

When a fan asked Britney Spears on Twitter in 2013 who she would want to see play her in a movie, the singer suggested Natalie Portman. As she plays her part in the recently announced Britney Spears biopic, it appears that the Oscar-winning actress will soon be belting out hits like the singer of Criminal. We want to make it clear to our readers before they draw any conclusions that, as of right now, there has been no formal casting announcement, thus our want to see Portman as Spears on film is just that—a wish!

The singer’s best-selling autobiography, The Woman in Me, has been acquired by Universal Pictures through a fiercely competitive auction, according to reports released on Thursday, August 1 by Variety and other prominent news sources. Furthermore, it was mentioned that producer Marc Platt and director Jon M. Chu of Wicked are involved in the project.

Since its October release, the book has sold over 2.5 million copies in the United States alone. It covers the 42-year-old’s extensive rise to fame, her previous connection with her previous boyfriend Justin Timberlake, and her well-watched conservatorship lawsuit.

The audiobook, which features an introduction by Spears and is read by Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams, is just as successful as the printed version.

The pop sensation whetted fans’ appetites before her biography was formally revealed by posting on X, “Happy to inform my fans that Marc Platt and I have been working on a secret project.” He is always directed some of my best films. Keep checking back.

Well, Britney was not making this up about Platt’s résumé. Hits like La La Land and the live-action versions of Aladdin and The Little Mermaid are well-known thanks to the producer.

Director Chu, who recently oversaw the soon-to-be released Wicked, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, has some experience working with pop singers.
