Ben Affleck Mood Swings helped Jennifer Lopez get divorced: The main cause of the divorce between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez was his erratic behavior.
According to a source who spoke with people, the 52-year-old actor’s abrupt and drastic mood swings eventually caused a rift between them despite their romantic emotions for one another.
The source claims, “The truth is there was a lot of love, but regrettably what came out were Ben’s erratic mood swings that he could not hide from the press, as much as he tried to.”
The insider goes on, saying, “You could see the erratic behaviour, the giant mood swings,” describing how the actor would alternate between acting in “the deepest, darkest behaviour” and “being incredibly happy and warm — the best light that emanated from him.”
The source continues, “I believe he was sending a message to the press.” “Yet taking part nonetheless.”
The insider claims that although Lopez, 55, said in her Aug. 20 divorce file that the couple’s separation date was April 26, they have attempted to save their marriage since then. However, Affleck’s mood swings have made things challenging.
The insider says, “They were trying to work through it, but you have to help yourself when the mood swings and the big highs and big lows informed a toxicity that was pervasive.”
The source continues, “But I would not be so bold as to say there is not love—of course there is.” “Who he said he was and who he turned out to be were two different people, but the world was rooting for them.”
After spending the majority of the summer apart and on different coasts, Lopez filed for divorce on the second anniversary of her and Affleck’s Southern wedding in Georgia in 2022. They were legally married in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022.
The couple, who first split up in 2004 before rekindling their romance, has been the subject of months’ worth of reports from people alleging relationship problems.
The singer “was done waiting and the date she did it speaks a tonne,” an insider told PEOPLE, elucidating her decision to file on what would have been the couple’s second anniversary.
A different Lopez insider echoed this sentiment, stating that the star” tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken.”
Meanwhile, the couple’s children — Lopez is mom to 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex Marc Anthony, and Affleck shares Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex Jennifer Garner — come first, the insider emphasized.
“The kids are a top priority, as they always have been,” the source said.
