The 54-year-old former cast member of All My Children shared a series of pictures on Instagram on Saturday, August 17, including the group interacting at the beach and having dinner together.

The set’s last image showed his son Lucas, 21, and daughter Lelia, 18, posing on each side of their father while flaunting their body ink.

Lucas’s tattoo is on his breast, Lelia’s is on her hip, and Mathison’s is on his arm.

In the message, the General Hospital star said that both of his children would soon be attending college in Europe.

“My last few days with my kids before they’re off to Europe for college (Paris and London), and we hit some our favorite places,” the actor said with the picture. “So many beautiful memories watching these two grow up into the incredible humans they are.”

He added, “I could not be more grateful🙏🏼,” to his remark.

At the end of the message, Mathison credited Ann Landers with a quotation about parenting before giving a shout-out to the tattooed photo. He wrote, “And that last photo.”

In the post’s comments, Vanessa, the actor’s ex-wife, offered supportive remarks.

“We performed well 🥹❤️😭,” she penned.

On July 31, Mathison and Vanessa announced on Instagram that they were separating after 21 years of marriage.

Their statement said, “After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways.” We have a great deal of respect, love, and affection for one another as we start this new chapter. We are deeply appreciative of the fantastic years we had together.”

“We will always share in our devotion and love for our children, who have been and will always be our top priority,” the statement said in its conclusion.

A post on Instagram the day before Mathison shared the adorable pictures with his children revealed that he was unsure about his future plans.

“Grateful for all the beautiful things in my life, as well as for the challenges and difficulties 🙏🏼,” he wrote on the image.

“I don’t know what this next chapter holds for me, but I’m approaching it with gratitude, acceptance, and the determination to be positive and to benefit others every chance I get,” he went on.
