The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, the highly awaited new attraction at the Florida theme park, will open in 2025 as a part of Epic Universe, the resort’s third theme park. A tonne of new pictures and details regarding the attraction have just been released.

The new land will be set in both 1990s wizarding London, specifically the British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter film series, and 1920s wizarding Paris, as seen in the Fantastic Beasts films, Universal confirmed in a press release shared with PERSONS.

According to the press announcement, the new location offers a “wonderful assortment of activities that includes fantastic dining, whimsical retail, and spellbinding entertainment.”

For many, though, Harry Potter and the Siege of the Ministry—the newest thrill ride—will be the most thrilling addition.

Harry Potter and the Ministry War: A NEW RIDE

For lovers of Harry Potter, this is not the Ministry battle from “The Request of the Phoenix,” but rather a brand-new narrative with some well-known characters.

Starting from the streets of magical Paris, which take up most of the new land, guests will experience the attraction through the Métro-Floo, “a unique mode of wizarding transit inspired by the iconic Floo Network seen in the films,” according to Universal. From there, they will board the British Ministry of Magic’s renowned omnidirectional lifts and witness “the long-awaited trial of the infamous Dolores Umbridge.”

Everything does not go as planned, of course, and when Umbridge tries to flee her trial, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and a house elf by the name of Higgledy join the riders in “a thrilling chase that will propel them up, down, forward, backward, sideways and more throughout the Ministry” as they try to capture the headmistress of Hogwarts before Death Eaters, magical beings, and other as-yet-unnamed hazards catch up with them.

New images of the ride vehicle were unveiled on Wednesday. It can accommodate up to 14 people in two rows, similar to the layout of Disney Studios’ Tower of Terror. However, the box’s tilt suggests that its movement might more closely resemble that of Universal StudioAlthough the ride’s technology is still to be announced, the business has revealed that it would be “the most ambitious, groundbreaking ride Universal has ever created.”

Wizarding Paris: Place Cachée

It appears that much of the new territory outside of the Ministry ride will take place in wizarding Paris and the magical neighbourhood of Place Cachée, which is similar to the French Diagon Alley from Fantastic Beasts. Additionally, the streets will be dotted with stores, eateries, and live entertainment, just like the British equivalent that can be seen at Universal Studios throughout two parks.

According to the leaked designs, the transition from magical to non-magical Paris looks more like a majestic arch in a park than the brick wall behind the Leaky Cauldron.

For those who are interested in wizardry, Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique is the Parisian version of Ollivanders, offering wands for sale in distinctive triangular boxes.

In addition, there is Les Galeries Mirifiques, where visitors may purchase “wizarding gear,” K. Rammelle, a confectionery, and Tour En Floo, which will offer ministry-related souvenirs.

WHAT TO EAT: An American Bar, French Cuisine, and a Haunt for Dark Wizards

There will be many places to eat across Paris, such as the French restaurant Café L’Air De La Sirène, which features gorgeous architecture and easter eggs featuring fantastical creatures. A hangout with ‘wizarding Americana’ and premium cocktail selections is Bar Moonshine.

A favorite among gloomy wizards and witches, Le Goblet Noir is reminiscent of the dim corners of London’s Knockturn Alley in Diagon.

Naturally, there is a butterbeer cart with the beloved beverage, known as bièraubeurre, available if you have a craving.

ENJOYMENT: Wandering Wizards and Le Cirque Arcanus

The first full-scale theatrical play of the Wizarding World will also take place on the land: Le Cirque Arcanus, the touring magical circus that Grindelwald fans will recall from The Crimes of Grindelwald.

According to the press release, the show will include “live artists and aerialists, amazing puppets, brilliant special effects.” The plot revolves around ringmaster Skender, who has taken Newt Scamander’s case containing extraordinary beasts, and Gwendolyn, a circus employee, who has to retrieve it.

Visitors may also come across witches and wizards to talk with as they meander through the streets, such as exchange students from Gryffindor and the American school of magic, Ilvermorny; also, an Auror from the French Ministry “roams enquiring of suspicious characters,” with Universal reporting. Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where guests can have unexpected encounters with stormtroopers along with additional movie characters, may have a similar vibe to this concept.

Additionally, there is magic that visitors can do in designated areas, just like in the other Universal wizarding realms. An interactive wand is available for purchase in the parks.

When and how to go there

This place is one of the five new worlds that Universal’s Epic Universe, a brand-new theme park (and Universal Orlando’s third) will add to the resort in 2025, will consist of.

Epic Universe will feature The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic in addition to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Dark Universe, Celestial Park, and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.
